Here are some Frequently Asked Questions to help make your charter the best it can be!

  1. How many people can I bring on one charter?
    For Bluefin Tuna or Shark fishing charters, our limit is 4 people to ensure that we have enough room to reel in the big fish!
    For Ground Fishing and Scenic Charters we can accommodate up to 6 guests.

  2. When is the best time of year to fish for Bluefin Tuna?
    We fish from May to early October. There are Federal regulations on how many Bluefin can be caught in a season. In the event that quota has been met prior to your charter, we will be required to release all Bluefins caught.

  3. Do we need any prior experience to fish for Bluefin Tuna?
    No! Our Captain and crew will be there to help beginners.

  4. Are there any food or drinks provided?
    We provide bottled water but suggest you bring your own snacks, lunch and drinks. There is a full galley with refrigerators and microwave onboard.

  5. What should we bring on a charter?
    We recommend you pack:
    - Layers of clothing for various weather
    - Rain jacket
    - Hat and sunscreen
    - Seasick medicine if you are prone to seasickness
    - Camera and/or binoculars
    - Sunglasses
    - Sleeping bag and pillow for overnight charters

  6. Do you provide the bait and tackle for fishing charters?
    Yes, we provide everything you need for fishing.

  7. Do I need a fishing license?
    No - you are covered under our Commercial Charter license.

  8. Can I keep all the fish I catch?
    That depends. You can keep ground fish (Haddock, Cod, Pollack, etc.) but Bluefin Tuna are Federally regulated so you can only keep the tunas that are between 47” and 72”. Your Captain will filet and package any fish you can and want to keep, before heading back in. Per Federal Regulations, Bluefin over 73” are taken to the dock and sold. Proceeds go to the boat and you receive 20% off a future charter.

  9. What safety equipment do you have onboard?
    Our boat is US Coast guard certified with all the latest safety equipment including an 8-man survival raft, survival suits and EPIRB and Garmin in-reach (text to shore).

  10. What is the payment policy?
    All charters require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. Final payment is due 48 hours prior to departure. NO REFUND of deposit if final payment is not made 48 hours prior to departure. If you book within 48 hours of the charter, full payment is due at the time of booking.

  11. What is the cancellation policy?

    Cancellations made at least 15 days prior to a scheduled charter will receive a full refund.
    Cancellations made within 8 -14 days of a scheduled charter are subject to a $250 cancellation penalty.
    Cancellations made within 4 - 7 days of a scheduled charter are subject to a $500 cancellation penalty.
    NO REFUNDS for cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled charter.
    In the event the Captain determines a charter must be cancelled due to weather, a full refund of all monies paid will be provided, or guests can reschedule to another date, based on availability.

  12. Do I need to sign a waiver?

    Yes, everyone over 18 must sign a waiver. For children under 18, an adult must sign for them.
